Lyrics
A Rìgh nan ainglean ’s a Rìgh nan daoine!
’S a Rìgh mo ghaoil! Tha d’fhàrdach fuar.
Chan àros rìoghail a bh’fheàrr leat, Iosa,
Ach fuachd is ìsleachd am fasgadh uaimh.
Gaol do mhàthair cumaidh blàths riut,
Moire mhìn tha naomh thar chàich;
’S a cridhe gaolach a’ sìor thoirt adhraidh
Do h-aon Mhac àlainn nan uile ghràs.
Is ceòl binn-fhuaimneach tha’n dràsda gluasad
San iarmailt shuas tha laist’ le glòir;
Gun d’aom Messiah bha dhùil bho linntean
A’ sgaoileadh sìth ’s gar saor’ bho bhròn.
Biodh luach gun innse an ionntas rìghrean,
Or is sìoda is stòras leug;
Tha gaol is dìlseachd san stàball ìseal
’S gach seud tha prìseil o ionntas Dhè.

King of angels and the King of the people!
My beloved King! Your dwelling is cold.
You would not prefer a regal home, O Jesus,
But cold and lowlines in the shelter of a cave.
The love of your mother will give you warmth
Fair Mary is is most holy;
And her loving heart in adoration
To her beautiful one child of all the graces.
Sweet melodious music is moving
In the skies above that are lit with glory;
That the Messiah that has been awaited for generations has come
Spreading peace and freeing us from sorrow.
Untold worth is in the treasures of kings
Gold and silk and precious gems
There is love and faithfulness in the lowly stable
And every gem that is precious from the treasures of God.
