The child is not laughing nor dancing today, His mummy's not well, she's been crying all-day He also is crying but does not understand, Why daddy's not there holding on to his hand, Why isn't daddy walking through our front door, Doesn't he love me and mummy no more, He wasn't to know his dad called out his name, Whilst breathing his last going under the waves. A child on the shore hand in hand with his mother, A cruel separation pulls them closer together, He does not understand the deep sadness in mommy Why his dad is now lifeless 'neath the waters of Holm, A hard lesson was learned by a child on that day, A flower cannot blossom till at first it decays, Will I go to heaven and be with dad when I die, She hugs him and whispers, yes child so will I.
